BetUS.com lists Jones as a hefty -650 favorite for the five-round headliner, with Miocic as the +425 underdog. In the co-main event, Oliveira is favored at -255, with Chandler coming back at +205.
Jones, 37, enters the Octagon on the strength of a 19-fight unbeaten streak, during which he has gone 18-0 with one no contest. The 6-foot-4 Rochester, New York, native last competed at UFC 285, where he put away Ciryl Gane with a first-round guillotine choke -- he needed a little more than two minutes to work his magic -- and captured the vacant heavyweight championship to become the promotion's latest two-division titleholder. Jones has delivered 17 of his 27 career victories by knockout, technical knockout or submission. Miocic, meanwhile, has won eight of his past 10 bouts. However, the 42-year-old Strong Style Fight Team linchpin has not fought since being knocked out by Francis Ngannou at UFC 260 nearly four years ago. Miocic has never suffered back-to-back losses as a pro.
UFC 309 also features a middleweight showcase pairing Bo Nickal (-1200) with Paul Craig (+650), a women's flyweight attraction pitting Karine Silva (-265) against Viviane Araujo (+215) and a lightweight tilt matching Mauricio Ruffy (-800) with James Llontop (+500). High-octane bantamweights anchor the undercard, as the MMA Lab's Marcus McGhee (-135) takes on Factory X standout Jonathan Martinez (+105) across three rounds at 135 pounds.
The rest of the UFC 309 "Jones vs. Miocic" lineup: Chris Weidman (-115) vs. Eryk Anders (-115) at middleweight, Damon Jackson (-170) vs. Jim Miller (+140) at lightweight, David Onama (-1000) vs. Roberto Romero (+625) at lightweight, Marcin Tybura (-145) vs. Jhonata Diniz (+115) at heavyweight, Mickey Gall (-140) vs. Ramiz Brahimaj (+110) at welterweight, Oban Elliott vs. Bassil Hafez (+220) at welterweight and Veronica Hardy (-145) vs. Eduarda Moura (+115) at women's flyweight.
