Before Mid-Plains Community Colleges 6:30 p.m. monthly meeting Wednesday at North Platte Community College, MPCC will break ground on its new $3.7 million electrical technology building.
Located on the west side of the W.W. Wood Building, a ceremony will be held at 4:30 p.m. to celebrate the new addition.
The MPCC electrical technology program has operated out of the existing facility since 1979. Since then, the program has grown to include an electrical automation degree and continues to operate full classes with an occasional wait list of students, MPCC's press release said.
Due to construction, parking will be limited. Guests are asked to park on the south or east side of the main building on NPCC's North Campus, 1101 Halligan Drive.
Following the groundbreaking, members of the board will head inside for their meeting.
