SHREVEPORT, La. - Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux will have an elective hip replacement surgery tomorrow.
The mayor's office says he has suffered from hip pain for a number of weeks and expects to make a full recovery.
Mayor Arceneaux reached out to members of the City Council to inform them of this procedure. During the post-procedure period, the Council Chairman will act as mayor pro tempore in accordance with the City Charter.
The Office of the Mayor will remain fully operational, and city business will continue without interruption under the leadership of senior staff.
Mayor Arceneaux expressed his gratitude to the people of Shreveport for their support and understanding.
He looks forward to resuming his full schedule as soon as possible and continuing his work on behalf of the city.
