The Memphis Police Department said a worker was killed Thursday morning outside the Kroger Delta Distribution Center in South Memphis.
Memphis Police responded to the 9:02 a.m. call at 5079 Bledsoe Cove and reported one man was dead at the scene. A male suspect has been detained. The incident is an ongoing investigation, according to police reports.
Kroger representatives released a statement, but could not provide additional details regarding the incident.
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of an associate and tragic incident that occurred at the Memphis distribution center. We have been in contact with the associate's family and offer our condolences to all impacted by this tragic loss. Counseling services for our associates at the distribution center have been initiated," a Kroger spokesperson said.
