Frontier Airlines has announced the introduction of first-class seating to attract high paying customers. This strategy was implemented in response to requests from travelers seeking more comfort during their flights.

Starting in September, the budget airline plans to replace the first two rows of its three-by-three economy seating with four first-class seats arranged in a two-by-two configuration. According to CNBC, this improved seating will offer more space and cater to customers looking for an affordable upgrade for cross-country flights. Additionally, Frontier is revamping its loyalty program: Gold-level members and above will receive complimentary seat upgrades when available, while platinum and diamond members will enjoy access to a free companion ticket.
CEO Barry Biffle described the new changes as a "game changer" and expressed hopes that the company will exceed $500 million in revenue by 2028. As part of its strategy to meet diverse customer needs, Frontier will retain its popular blocked middle seat option, which was introduced in March.

Biffle also emphasized that the price will remain reasonable for loyal customers while company will focus on affordability and accessibility. Meanwhile, competitors such as Southwest Airlines is also stepping up its game, planning to add extra-legroom seats and seat assignments for the first time in over five decades.
United and Delta have rolled out similar upgrades to provide luxury comfort for its customers along with JetBlue and Spirit.
