Metro Police has arrested a suspect in a series of burglaries in the Spring Mountain Corridor, department officials said.
Cedric Hasan, 34, was arrested by Metro Police on 34 counts of burglary and one count of theft over $100,000, court records show. The burglary spree began in June and continued through September, mostly targeting "Asian-type restaurants" in the Spring Mountain area, Metro said Tuesday.
Security footage from affected businesses show what is now identified as Hasan taking whole safes out of stores.
In September, the department activated its major case protocol, typically reserved for violent high-profile cases, which utilizes a higher level of department resources to follow up on leads.
The FBI last month offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the suspect's arrest.
Metro Deputy Chief Jose Hernandez said the arrest is indicative of the department's conviction in solving cases regardless of circumstances and utilizing all of their resources to apprehend suspects.
"Let this be a reminder to anyone who thinks that they can prey on citizens of this community and commit crimes in our city," Hernandez said. "The LVMPD will follow all leads and leave no stone unturned."
Hasan is due in court Wednesday for his first appearance.
