Douglas (Doug) Bock

ANGWIN -- Douglas (Doug) Bock, age 83, of Angwin, passed away at his home peacefully early on Christmas morning following a long-fought battle with cancer.

Born April 1, 1941 in San Francisco Doug was the son of Edward and Brownell (Donavan) Bock. He grew up in Fairfax where he attended local schools and graduated from Sir Francis Drake High School in 1960.

In 1962, he began his 43 year career with PG&E, starting in the paint department at the San Rafael yard before becoming a groundman in the line department. After working in the San Rafael yard for 10 years he transferred to the Silverado (St. Helena) yard as a lineman before eventually becoming a trouble man and retiring in 2005.

Just after marrying Mary Kenyon in 1963 they moved to St. Helena where they had three children, Margo, Michael and Robert. After their divorce, Doug found the love of his life when he met Josephine while at work. They were married in 1986 and made their home in Angwin until her passing in May 2021.

Doug is survived by his children, Margo (Shawn) Fitzgerald of Rochester, MN, Michael (Lorie) of Angwin and Robert (Bethanne) of Fort Worth, TX, Julia Dougherty (Kevin Korach), 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a sister, Barbara Stasiowski of San Anselmo and three nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Josephine, parents, Edward and Brownell and brother-in-law Lloyd.

He will be missed by the BCRA racing community. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 14th at the St. Helena Catholic Church, 1340 Tainter Street, St. Helena, CA. Following the service, interment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
