GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The City of Greenville provided an update on the contruction of a playground named after a young girl with a rare disorder.
Officials said the first fully inclusive playgound is designed for children of all abilities. The new outdoor attraction will be called "Brooks' Playground" named after Brooks Foster, young girl with a rare neurological disorder leaving her unable to walk.
Her family made a donation to the City to help kick start the design because they wanted a place for her to experience the same play as other children.
City officials said they also accepted an additional $500,000 in private donations and allocated $200,000 in hospitality revenue.
