The State Fair of Texas comes around once a year, but that doesn't mean you can't show off your appreciation for "Big Tex."

This month, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles Board of Directors approved a specialty license plate for the State Fair of Texas. The plate, featuring Big Tex and his iconic "Howdy, folks!" greeting, will be available for purchase next year. Proceeds will benefit the Big Tex Scholarship Program.

Each year, the Big Tex Scholarship Program awards millions of dollars in scholarships to graduating high school seniors across Texas. Since its inception in 1992, the program has provided over $18.8 million in scholarships to more than 3,500 Texas students.
