Nashville Predators induct three into franchise's new Golden Hall

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Nashville Predators inducted three of the franchise's most influential faces into the Golden Hall - the team's new Hall of Fame.

Former General Manager David Poile, alongside longtime stars Pekka Rinne and Shea Weber, are members of the inaugural class.

"This time I get to share this with Shea and David, and I think both of those guys had such a huge impact on my career as a player," Rinne said. "It means a lot to me that I have this honor to do this with David and Shea."

Poile was the architect for the Preds from the beginning. He was the team's first general manager, and held that title until the summer of 2023.

Rinne spent 15 seasons as one of the faces of Smashville. The image of his large frame in between the pipes as Nashville's goalie is only outshined by his play, which led to him winning the Vezina Trophy, given to the league's best goaltender, in the 2017-18 season.

Weber played 11 seasons with Nashville, serving as the team's captain for six.

Weber was a mainstay during NHL All-Star weekend. He played in the game seven times, and was a force to be reckoned with in the league's Hardest Shot competition. The 6'4'' defenseman won the event four times.

"It's a special group and it's a true honor. I'm still kind of in disbelief with all of it," Weber said.

Poile and Weber were inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November of 2024.
