DENVER (KDVR) -- A man's body was recovered from the Second Flatiron outside of Boulder on Monday.
According to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a call at about 9 p.m. of an overdue hiker.
Friends of the hiker told the sheriff's office that he was supposed to return home around dark. When he did not return, the friends went to search the area and found the 42-year-old on a rock ledge on the Second Flatiron.
The Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Boulder Parks and Open Space rangers, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, American Medical Response ambulance, Boulder Emergency Squad and the Boulder County Coroner's office all responded to the mountain and recovered the man's body.
Details about how the man died were not released, but the sheriff's office said he fell from the Second Flatiron in a press release.
The identity of the man will be released at a later date.
