6 winners and losers from the Patriots' loss to the Cardinals

Here is who caught our eye for better or worse upon live viewing.

CB Christian Gonzalez: The Patriots top corner drew Arizona's top wide receiver, fourth overall pick Marvin Harrison Jr., on Sunday, aligning across from him on 21 of the receivers' 29 routes. Targeted five times with Gonzalez in coverage, Harrison managed just one catch for 23 yards. Gonzalez also recorded three pass breakups, two coming in the end zone with textbook coverage.

RBs Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson: New England's ground game found some success on Sunday, as their top two backs combined for 102 yards on 20 carries. Stevenson totaled over 5.0 yards per carry while Gibson continues to be an explosive change-of-pace back, as seen on his 29-yard run where he runs away from the unblocked backside rusher.

Gibson also showed that skillset by taking his two catches for 31 yards late in the fourth quarter. We say it every week now, but he needs more touches.

Offensive line: With the game plan of getting the ball out quick, the overall pressure rate of Maye was not manageable on Sunday. But, Vederian Lowe struggled -- allowing a run stuff and sack on two consecutive plays -- Layden Robinson was flagged for a hold to negate a big 15-yard third-down conversion on the opening drive, and Ben Brown had a pair of low snaps and allowed a pressure on Maye's interception. Perhaps that opens the door for Cole Strange next week.

S Kyle Dugger: The veteran's safety's struggles continued against the Cardinals. A big 39-yard gain by Greg Dortch came with a bad whiff by Dugger, one of several poor tackle attempts throughout the day. He also was noticeably too deep in the nearest zone on a late third-down completion to Trey McBride.

WR Kayshon Boutte: Boutte continued to lead New England's wide receivers in snaps and explained post game then he felt disrespected by the amount of man coverage the Cardinals played in the first quarter (almost like they weren't overly worried about the Patriots top wideout). Boutte finished the day hauling in just two of his five targets as his deep connection with Maye remains nonexistent. He then saw a low pass away from the defender go through his hands and right to the Cardinals for an interception. When out of concussion protocol, Javon Baker should get the opportunities out wide.
