A man with a previous conviction for possessing illegal images of children is going back to prison on a new charge of possessing more of them, U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced.
Christopher Gostick, 30, of Lancaster, was given a sentence of 24 years and four months by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara. He pleaded guilty in June to receipt of child images after a prior conviction relating to possession of such images.
Prosecutors said Gostick, who was convicted on a similar charge in August 2019, came under suspicion after he attended a sleepover birthday party in June 2023 and kissed a 9-year-old girl on the lips. The girl told her parents, who called police, prosecutors said. Cellphones and computer tables belonging to Gostick were seized.
One of the phones contained video of the girl that was recorded secretly in a bathroom, according to prosecutors. Another phone had a recording of a conversation online on Snapchat between a 10-year-old girl and Gostick, who was posing as an 11-year-old girl and encouraging her to send an explicit video of herself. In all, Gostick's devices contained 613 images and two videos of children.
