CHICAGO -- Four people were injured overnight when their SUV crashed across the street from the Salt Shed, a music venue in West Town.
According to Chicago police, a 20-year-man was driving south in the 1300 block of North Elston Avenue at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday when he sideswiped a taxi and hit a light pole. The SUV ended up on a sidewalk, and police say some of its occupants were trapped inside, with rescue personnel having to climb through the back of the vehicle to get them out.
The driver, a female passenger and two other male passengers were all taken to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. Additionally, police say the driver of the taxi was not injured, and no other injuries were reported.
