The System76 Pangolin is a thin, light, and powerful laptop with a big screen, an AMD processor, and a choice of GNU/Linux distributions including Ubuntu and Pop!_OS. Linux PC company System76 has been selling versions of the Pangolin laptop since 2020, and this week the company introduced a new model with an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS Hawk Point processor and support for up to 96GB of RAM and up to 16TB of storage.
Earlier this year System76 released a version of the Pangolin laptop with a Ryzen 7 7840U processor, a 16.1 inch display, and 32GB of LPDDR5 memory.
The new model brings a number of improvements. It has a higher-power processor, a higher-resolution display with a faster refresh rate, user-upgradeable memory, a better camera, and a slightly lighter weight. But it's also a downgrade in at least one area - the new model has a smaller battery than its predecessor. It also has a higher starting price.
